I grew up in this area and am a 1992 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a major in journalism/advertising. I currently live in Janesville with my husband, Craig, and our two sons, Charlie (8) and Sullivan (5).

Since 1997, I have owned and operated F.I.D.O., (Freelance writing. Illustration. Design and Odd jobs), offering creative services to clients throughout the nation.

Kari Gates - Lab Safety Supply, HR Rep, Employee Health Coordinator

I was born and raised in Milton, WI and moved to Janesville in 1985. I graduated from Craig High School in 1989. I attended MATC, 1989 - 1991, Area of study: general courses with emphasis on health professions. I currently reside in Janesville with my son, Caleb. I have strong ties to both Milton and Janesville communities.

I am an Employee Health Coordinator at Lab Safety Supply in Janesville, WI. My civic responsibilities include: Membership in International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and SWANI (Southern WI and Northern IL) Chapter, 2000 - 2001. I am also an active member of Janesville Women's League, 2004 - present. Board Member at Janesville Boys & Girls Club. Volunteer work with ECHO and The Salvation Army.

Tim Gorman - City of Janesville, Property Maintenance Specialist

Tim started his career with the City of Janesville in 1991 as a Police Dispatcher and was promoted to his present position as Code Enforcement Inspector in 1993.

As a Property Maintenance Specialist he responds to citizen complaints regarding Housing, Building, and Nuisance code and ordinance violations.

He is a Janesville native and graduated from Craig High School in 1986. He has an Associate's degree from Blackhawk Technical College in Police Science, and is a certified Building Inspector by the State of Wisconsin.

Prior to coming to the City of Janesville, he served in the United States Navy from 1986-1990. He lives in Janesville with his wife Sheila and two children: Audra and Aiden.

He is a 2007 LDA Graduate, and is presently enrolled in the Wisconsin Certified Public Manager Program through the University of Wisconsin - Madison

Kim Hesgard - Mercy Health System, Marketing and PR

Kim has been a member of the Mercy team for 16 years. She started with an associate degree from BTC, then received BA through Upper Iowa University.

Her involvement in the community includes:

	I am the Projects Director at KANDU Industries/Best Events. I direct and manage KANDU's IT, marketing, community outreach, and fund development systems and assist with key agency priority projects consistent with KANDU's mission.

David Peterson - Wisconsin FLAME Group, LLC

David Peterson is a lifelong resident of Janesville who enjoys contributing to the community by serving on several committees, boards, and groups. He is a career firefighter and also a small business owner that specializes in leadership, management, and safety training. David lives near the fairgrounds with his wife, Cheryl, three children, Nate, Kristin, and Monica, and two cats, Maggie and Lucy.

Angel Tullar - School District of Janesville, Manager of Employee Relations

I am a Janesville native who feels fortunate to live in such a great city near to my family. I am fortunate to be a graduate of the first LDA class in 2004. I received my bachelor’s degree in Finance from the UW-Whitewater in December of 1992 and my MBA from Whitewater in December of 1993.

I have worked as the Manager of Employee Relations at the School District of Janesville for the past 11 years. In my position there, I see first hand the positive effects community volunteers can have on District operations. We are very lucky to have community members so willing to devote so much time to the District as Board members.

I was a member of the Employers Health Cooperative steering committee for nine years. I have recently been elected to the Board of Directors of The Alliance, an employer group working to move healthcare issues forward.

I have three children ages 11, 8 and 5 years old. I enjoy cooking and gardening. I have also been the treasurer of the Integrity Investment Club for eleven years.

Heather Walz - Boys & Girls Club of Janesville, Executive Director

Heather has worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville since the spring of 2001. She has held several positions including Program Director, Unit Director, Director of Operations and ;now Executive Director.

Heather graduated from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice.

She is originally from Appleton, Wisconsin but now lives in Janesville with her husband Aaron and their 3 year old daughter, Peyton. Heather is expecting her 2nd child in June.

Aside from her role on the LDA Board of Directors and her work with the Boys & Girls Club Heather is also on the Janesville Children’s Museum Board of Directors, a member of the Janesville Noon Rotary Club and an active member of Oakhill Christian Church.

Jon moved to Janesville from Rice Lake, WI in 1995. He has worked locally at M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank since 1999, currently serving as Assistant Vice President- Preferred Banking. His family includes wife, Kristin and 3 children, Emily(9), Ethan(6), Leah(4). Current volunteer positions include: Vice Chair- City of Janesville Zoning Board of Appeals, Past President- Janesville Noon Lions Club, Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Board Member, Forward Janesville Goodwill Ambassador.

Philip Whitehead - Johnson Bank, Senior Vice President, Business Banking
	I am married with four children; three boys and one girl. I graduated from UW - Whitewater with a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree, with an emphasis in marketing. I then obtained a Master's of Science degree with an emphasis in accounting. I am employed by Johnson Bank as the Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Lender.
